What is collected

Standard server logs — the page requested, the time, a browser user-agent string and an IP address — kept transiently and used to keep the site up and to spot abuse.

A privacy-standard web analytics tag that reports aggregate page views and referrers. It does not identify you, and you can opt out with your browser's Do Not Track setting or any content blocker.

What is stored in your browser

One key in sessionStorage, ts_gearFilters, holding the filters you set on the catalogue so that returning from a product page lands you back where you were. Session storage is cleared when you close the tab, it never leaves your device, and nothing reads it but this site.

No advertising cookies, no cross-site trackers, and no account of any kind — there is nothing here to sign up for.

No retailer links, no commissions

TrailSleep sells nothing and links to no retailer. There are no affiliate tags, no buy buttons and no commission on anything you do after leaving. Manufacturer URLs are recorded against each product as the source the specifications were read from; they are reference data and are not rendered as links.

That also means no click is tracked to a shop and no shop is told you came from here.

Third parties

Product photographs are hosted on this site rather than hot-linked from anyone else's servers, so viewing a page does not tell a manufacturer or a retailer that you did.

Fonts are served from Google Fonts through Next.js's font pipeline, which self-hosts the font files at build time — no request goes to Google when you load a page.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and collects nothing knowingly from them.
